prevention of summer annual weeds, broad leaf weed
control and a root feeding fertilizer
Round Two:
Pre-emergent
weed control for the prevention of summer annual
weeds, broad leaf weed control and a Nitrogen based
fertilizer for initial green-up
Round Three:
Balanced
fertilizer and post-emergent weed control for Nutsedge and other troublesome weeds
Round Four:
Balanced
“time released fertilizer” to maintain your healthy
green turf and a post-emergent weed control for
weeds emerging in late summer
Round Five:
Balanced
fertilizer and post-emergent weed control for weeds
that may germinate in late summer
Round Six:
Pre-emergent
weed control for the prevention of winter annual
weeds, broadleaf weed control and a root feeding
fertilizer
Round Seven:
An
application of a dolometic lime for the reduction of
soil acidity and to provide micro-nutrients and
post-emergent weed control for any remaining winter
weeds
During each Round, our
Technician will inspect and assess the present condition
of the turf to address new or emerging needs coming from
such areas as insects, disease or seasonal problems.

Our Tree &
Shrub Care Program
Do you pay “regular
attention” to shrub care? If your shrubs were to
develop an insect or disease problem (scale, white
flies, powdery mildew, leaf spot, root rott, spider
mites and bag worms etc.) would you know what to do or
more importantly, what to use to control it?
Jamison...Your lawn partner
has trained Professionals and a carefully developed,
agronomically sound Tree & Shrub Care Program that will
put your mind at ease. All it
takes is one call for us to develop a healthy
plan for the care of your small trees and shrubs.
We’ll make a thorough inspection of your landscaping
needs and carefully develop your 5 step program...just
click here. See our Program outline below:
Round One: Dormant oil
for the control of “over wintering insects”
Round Two: Balanced
spring fertilization and feeding to help plants
recover from winter damage and maximize springtime
growth
Round Three: Insect and
disease control for the elimination and prevention
of damage they cause
Round Four: Insect and
disease control for the problems associated with
small trees and shrubs during this time of year
Round Five: Deep root
feeding to encourage a strong root system for the
coming winter months and to promote a strong spring
start up growth
During each Round, our Technician will inspect and
assess the present condition of your shrubs to address
new or emerging needs coming from such areas as insects,
disease or seasonal problems.

Fescue Seeding...
Why fescue seeding? In the mid-south
region, our warm season turfgrasses, Zoysia and Bermuda
are better suited for our climate and require more than
6 hours of direct sunlight to prosper. Fescue on the
other hand, will grow well in the shade of your trees
and can eliminate those “undesirable bare ground areas”
under the trees.
The Fescue family of grasses is the only
grass available that can be sustained on a year round
basis in heavily shaded areas. Fescue, regardless of
variety, will thin out over time. That is why it
is necessary to overseed periodically to increase turf
density. The average period between seedings is 1 to 3
years depending upon a variety of factors such as
sunlight, irrigation and fertilization.
For optimal results, fescue seeding
should be done from circa September 15th through October
31st. This allows the fescue seedlings time to
germinate and begin growth during the last warm weeks of
the fall. These seedlings will then have time to grow
and reach maturity, as well as develop a good strong
root system, so that they may be able to withstand the
stress from the cold winter months as well as the heat
of the coming summer. Due to the lack of time to develop
an adequate root system, and the high mortality rate of
seed planted in the Spring, it is our policy that we
will not perform fescue seeding in the Spring.
The
Fescue Seeding Process:
The first step is to mow the area to be
seeded as closely as possible and remove the excess
clippings.
Second, an application may be made to
remove any weeds that should be eliminated before the
establishment of a new stand of Fescue.
Next, aerate the area to be seeded.
(See
aeration)
After aeration, the seed is to be
broadcast over the designated area making sure to shield
areas where seed is not desired (flower beds, warm
season grasses). It should be watered lightly
following the seeding. Proper watering of newly seeded
area is imperative to its growth and development!
Newly seeded Fescue areas should be watered daily until
germination occurs.

Soil
Sampling Service
Why would I need “soil sampling”? There are
times when despite optimal growing conditions coupled
with good care, your turfgrass will just not maintain a
healthy posture or appearance...and it can happen for
no apparent reason! In cases like this, a “soil
sample” could very well lead us to the solution for a
“not visible problem”. In other situations like “bare
ground” for no apparent reason, soil sampling can be a
great tool.
In most
cases however, our trained professionals will be able to
diagnose the “problem and solution” without the use of a
soil sample.

Insect and
Disease Control
We
could give you a long list of Insects and Plant
Diseases and provide for you “tough to make an
identification pictures” but we have found the vast
majority of our customers don’t want to make the
identification, learn the background or gain the
experience needed to understand the problems associated
with these many insects or diseases!
We have
found they want to know...
“Can
Jamison...Your lawn partner
take care of it???”
Our
Professionals are each trained and certified to diagnose
and address problems such as these everyday...and if you
would like to have the pictures and the knowledge
mentioned above, our Professionals are anxious to share
this with you at your convenience!
Why
isn’t this included as a part of my regular program?
Actually, there are several reasons. First and
foremost, the EPA and state law mandates that each
insect or disease infestation be identified as a “target
pest” prior to the application of a “product or
chemical”. Said another way, “no routine or
preventive application of a pesticide” may be
made for problems that may or may not occur.
Most insect and disease problems are not “readily
predictable” from season to season and therefore,
inclusion of such treatments within a regular program is
“outside of the law”. In addition, this
would also be wasteful and MORE EXPENSIVE !
